Be sure to read Exodus 30:31-33 – the warning.
“And though shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, This shall be an holy anointing oil unto me throughout your generations. Upon man’s flesh shall it not be poured, neither shall ye make any other like it, after the composition after it: it is holy, and it shall be holy unto you. Whosoever compoundeth any like it, or whosoever putteth any of it upon a stranger, shall even be cut off from his people.”
This goes a bit into a theological study, but here are my thoughts and study on this. I think if you are a born-again believer in Jesus Christ, you are a “priest” and able to use this oil recipe on yourself and other believers.
I Peter 2 begins by talking about giving your life to Jesus Christ. When you are a born-again believer, changes happen in your life. You become a precious child of God. I Peter 2:5-10 talks about Jesus Christ becoming our cornerstone. As followers of Christ, we invite the Holy Spirit to dwell within us. At that point our bodies become the holy temple of God. And we, the believers, becomes a part of the royal priesthood. I Peter 2:5 says, “Ye also, as lively stones, are built as a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.” I encourage you to study this for yourself, and talk to your local pastor and fellow believers about this.

Now, to take the proportions of these biblical essential oils down in size a bit, try this smaller version.
- 50 drops Myrrh
- 25 drops Cinnamon (1/2 gallon)
- 25 drops Calamus (1/2 gallon)
- 50 drops Cassia (1 gallon)
- 65 drops Extra Virgin Olive Oil
To be used safely on the skin, the above mix aught to be diluted further with a carrier oil in a 1:4 ratio.
This holy, precious anointing oil was to sanctify the tabernacle, the ark of the testimony, the table and all vessels, the candlestick and vessels, the altar of incense, the altar of burnt offering and vessels, the laver and foot. It was also used to anoint Aaron and his sons, and consecrate them as priests.
